Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a natural product created from your own body. A small amount of blood is drawn from you and placed in a sterile tube that is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white blood cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma (the clear fluid). This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma, or PRP.

Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. The PRP, injected into specific areas of the skin, act as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, and thus acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin. In this way, PRP softens wrinkles and creating smoother skin texture and tone.

It is less invasive than plastic surgery, takes about 30 minutes for each treatment, and the longevity of the results vary based on the extent of the procedure, areas treated, and number of sessions.

The number of treatments needed depends on each individual patient, the desired outcome, and your doctor%u2019s treatment plan. As a stand-alone therapy, many physicians recommend a series of one to three injection sessions spaced from four to six weeks apart for optimal results.

COVID-19 Update
As we reopen our offices your health and safety is our number one priority. We follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines for infection control and social distancing to protect our patients and our team members. During your visit you will see patients and team members wearing masks, other protective equipment as needed, and find a new patient experience that maximizes contactless processes. We are practicing social distancing with new office layouts, modified schedules to include TeleHealth services, and controlled flow of people in the office locations. In addition, we use EPA approved disinfectants before and after every patient interaction, and conduct hospital grade disinfection to the entire office on a regular basis. These steps work together to ensure a pleasant, safe experience at Riverchase; we look forward to seeing you soon!
