Studies Validate Laser-Based Cellulite Tx
Considered by many as the next frontier in body shaping, cellulite is an incurable malady said to affect a majority of women. Small wonder that women with acne are ripping at their own faces. Treating the disorder requires more than just healing the skin, since the problem is both dermatological and psychological. In a 2004 study by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, dermatologists Tina Alster and Leyda Bowes treated two female patients, ages 38 and 54, who had disfiguring acne ulcers and scars and had also been diagnosed with acne excoriée. In addition to oral and topical antibiotics for the lesions and laser treatments for the scarring, psychotherapy was included to help them deal with their obsessive-compulsive behavior.
